Iranian short ‘Inner Self’ to compete at Filmfest DC

Iranian ‘Inner Self’ is to compete at the 2021 Washington DC Int’l Film Festival in the US.

Iranian short flick ‘Inner Self’ has been selected to compete at the 35th edition of the Washington DC International Film Festival (Filmfest DC) in the US.

Directed by Mohammad Hormozi, the 15-minute flick follows the story of a female violinist who wants to enter an office but as she is not attired appropriately for the place, she must stay in the waiting room.

While waiting, the young woman copes with her frustration by composing a new piece.

An unexpected ally is moved by her performance and provides a last-minute solution to the violinist’s predicament.

‘Inner Self’ has gone on screen at a number of global events, including the Ojai Film Festival in the US, the International Short Film Festival – Film Front in Serbia, the Grand Off film festival in Poland, the Mediawave International Film Festival in Hungary, and the Dhaka International Film Festival in Bangladesh.

According to the official website of the Filmfest DC, “It will be presented virtually, allowing the audience to enjoy great films from the comfort of their own home. The Filmfest DC continues to offer the best in world cinema”.

The 35th edition of the Filmfest DC is scheduled for June 4-13.
